If you feel frustrated with your current state of health and overwhelmed with where to begin or how to change, I want to introduce you to the ancient wisdom that sees you as the incredible, unique & vibrant individual you are, Ayurveda.

Ayurveda believes that your natural state is one of health and happiness. Chronic inflammation or pain, recurring digestive or sleep problems, being challenged with your weight, feeling anxious, irritable or lethargic is NOT your natural state of being and does not have to be a part of your daily life. And while, we're on that note, neither is a one-size fits all approach to your health and happiness.

Ayurveda is the Sister Science to yoga

Ayur stems from the Sanskrit root life. Veda stems from the Sanskrit root wisdom. Ayurveda translates as the science of life. It has been around for over 5,000 years- which means it has stood the test of time and works! Ayurveda is founded on the principle that you are a microcosm of the macrocosm and that dis-ease occurs when you live out of alignment with your natural environment and disconnected to your svadharma (purpose for being here in this lifetime).

The Universe is comprised of the five elements - ether, air, fire, water, earth - and is expressed in you through the three doshas - vata, pitta and kapha. You, as an individual, have a unique prakriti (constitution) that you were born with, based on  a specific combination of the three doshas. When the doshas accumulate, the excess creates an imbalance. This imbalance is said to be your vikriti, the factors that set you up for dis-ease.

Ayurveda is a holistic approach to health in that it works at the physical, mental and soul level. It seeks to remove excess dosha on the physical level through diet, herbs, lifestyle, asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques). Mentally, Ayurveda works to increase sattva guna (qualities of light, purity, goodness). On the soul level, Ayurveda helps you connect to your life's purpose through ritual, chanting and dhyana (meditation).

Ayurveda is a personalized and in-depth approach to balancing your body, mind and soul through diet, lifestyle, rasayana (self-care), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), dhyana (meditation), chanting & more!

Carrie Hensley
Yoga & Ayurveda Counselor

I LOVE working with brilliant and dedicated souls, like YOU:), who want better health, balance between doing and being and are ready to live in harmony with nature. As a yoga & Ayurveda counselor, it makes my heart sing to receive your emails telling me you are sleeping through the night, your pain levels are better and that you are living your life to the fullest. It is such an honor and privilege to bring the therapeutic benefits of these two complimentary ancient systems into your life.

The Introductory Ayurveda & Yoga Package begins with a 60-minute consultation with Carrie, via Zoom. Through a comprehensive assessment, she will determine your prakriti (constitution) and vikriti (imbalance).

After the initial consultation, Carrie will design a 30+ paged PERSONALIZED e-book. It will include a detailed list of local fruits & veggies that are in season with your geographical location, specific morning & evening routines and recommended practices and techniques to reduce excess dosha & help you take enlightened action towards balance and better health.

Once you receive and have had time to review your e-book, you will have a 30-minute follow up call with Carrie, via Zoom to ask questions or make any necessary adjustments to your routines or e-book.

After this 30-minute follow up call, Carrie will send you several videos (specific routines for your doshas) and/or audio mp3s (pranayama, chants and/or meditations). The files are yours to keep and will be downloadable.

The more your invest in yourself, the better the price on the package. Ayurveda & yoga work best with slow, incremental changes over time. Take a moment and acknowledge how many years your samskaras (old negative habit patterns & conditioning) have recycled themselves through your body & mind. Trying to integrate too many changes all at once can be overwhelming. Think New Year's Resolution. The focus, here, is to adapt to these life-changing healthy habits in a sustainable and gentle manner so that they last.
